Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 As justification or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known extent. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
