The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
