The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 on a great day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
