The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The time of reckoning has drawn near for mankind, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 But they say, "[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles]." 5 Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? 6 And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. 7 We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. 8 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and We saved them and those with them whom We pleased, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 Now, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your Remembrance. Will you not understand? 10
