The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
