Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
