The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
