The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And the roof exalted, 5 and the sea that is full 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 But in the Gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 Reclining upon couches ranged in rows; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They will say: "Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God's displeasure]: 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
