Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
