The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and gathered his people together 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
