And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 “And you committed the deed of yours that you committed, and you were ungrateful.” 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
