And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 you and your forefathers of yore? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 and no sincere friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
