No, by the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
