Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
