Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 And not known my account! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
