Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And chosen goblets. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
