T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Let not the unbelievers who follow their vain desires make you forget the Day of Judgment, lest you will perish." 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 But We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
