and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
