Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then turn your vision again, and then again; in the end your vision will come back to you, worn out and frustrated. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will add: "Had we but listened [to those warnings,] or [at least] used our own reason, we would not [now] be among those who are destined for the blazing flame!" 10 So they shall confess their sin. Far away they be, the fellows of the Blaze! 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 Whether you speak in secrecy or aloud, (it is all the same to Allah). He even knows the secrets that lie hidden in the breasts of people. 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
