The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
