Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 Make my task easy 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Aaron my brother 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 "And let him share my task (of conveying Allah's Message and Prophethood), 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
