Evidence (of the truth) for them is how We revived the dead earth 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
