Those who disbelieve will certainly be told: "God's displeasure was greater than your disgust of your selves when you were called to belief and refused to believe." 10 They say: Our Lord! Twice hast Thou made us die, and twice hast Thou made us live. Now we confess our sins. Is there any way to go out? 11 This has come upon you because when God alone was invoked you disbelieved; but when partners were associated with Him, you believed. But judgement belongs to God, the all-high and supreme. 12 It is He who shows you His signs, and sends you food from the heavens. Yet none takes a warning except him who turns to Him. 13 Worship God and be devoted to His religion even though the disbelievers dislike this. 14 Exalter of ranks is He, Possessor of the Throne, casting the Spirit of His bidding upon whomever He will of His servants, that he may warn them of the Day of Encounter, 15 The Day when they will (all) come out, nothing of them will be hidden from Allah. Whose is the kingdom this Day? (Allah Himself will reply to His Question): It is Allah's the One, the Irresistible! 16 On that Day every soul shall be recompensed for its earnings and on that Day none shall be wronged. The reckoning of Allah is swift. 17 (Muhammad), warn them of the approaching day when because of hardship and frustration their hearts will almost reach up to their throats. The unjust will have no friends nor any intercessor who will be heard. 18 He knoweth the traitor of the eyes, and that which the bosoms hide. 19 God will judge with [justice and] truth: but those whom they invoke besides Him, have no power to judge at all. Surely, God is all hearing, all seeing. 20
