The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
