The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
