And who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah or denies His signs? Undoubtedly, the unjust will never succeed. 21 And let them beware the Day whereon We shall gather them all together; then We shall say unto those who associated: where are your associate-gods whom ye have been asserting? 22 Then will they have no contention save that they will say: By Allah, our Lord, we never were idolaters. 23 Look how they lie against themselves, and how that which they were forging has gone astray from them! 24 Some of them listen to you. But We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and in their ears heaviness; and if they see every sign they do not believe in it. When they come to you they argue, the unbelievers say: 'This is nothing but the tales of the ancient ones' 25 and they bar others from believing and themselves keep away. But they ruin no one but themselves, though they fail to realize this. 26 If you should see them when they are stood before the Fire, they will say: "Ah would that we were sent back (to the world)! We shall not deny the signs of our Lord, and be among those who believe." 27 Whatever they had concealed will be revealed to them. If they were to return to (the worldly life), they would again worship idols, for they are liars. 28 They have said that this life is the only life and that there will be no Resurrection. 29 If you could but see when they will be made to stand before their Lord. He will say, "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will [then] say, "So taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve." 30
