And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
