The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
