The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
