The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And no trifle. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
