The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and the day in splendour 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who belied and turned away, 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
