Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
