The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 It is a written book. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
