Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
