Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 And striking off fire by dashing their hoofs. 2 And raiding at dawn 3 And therein raising dust. 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
