And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, – 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
