The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
