Alshu'araa' 5 of 11
Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
