Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And not known my account! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
