Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
