Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
