The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
