▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 (and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it) 76 it is surely a noble Koran 77 (Inscribed) in the well-kept Book. 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 You live by calling it a lie. 82 Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? 83 and you are watching at that time 84 And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - 85 So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, – 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 Then, if he is one of the honoured, 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 If it is of the people of the right hand, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And a hurling into the blazing fire. 94 This is indeed the ultimate truth. 95 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
