Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
