By the loosed ones successively 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
