Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
