Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 About what they used to do. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him, 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
