3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
