Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
