The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. 1 And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." 2 They have rejected it and have followed their own desires, but all matters will be settled (by God). 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Wisdom consummate. But warnings avail not. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 running in confusion towards the Summoning Voice; [and] those who [now] deny the truth will exclaim, "Calamitous is this Day!" 8 ۞ The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 Then We opened the portals of heaven with water poured out. 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. 12 And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails. 13 that ran on under Our Eyes, a recompense for him because he had been disbelieved. 14 And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? 15 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, 19 Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. 20 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warning. 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22
